Villa Mutamba |

|||
Local radio personality, Muta Baruka and his partner Jackie "Amba" Cohen have constructed a classic of architectural design using the slope of the mountain, the rock stone as accents within the house and strictly local materials. Jackie shows an uncanny talent for intuitively understanding the way a home should mould to the land it stands upon so that it blends, becomes a part of and belongs to it's hillside instead of being a squatting monster glowering over it. From it's aged Rasta coloured exterior, with a multiplicity of decks giving balance and outdoor lounging space as well as endlessly changing and glorious views of the Caribbean Sea, it is possible to wile away an entire holiday by simply absorbing the scenery and watching for dolphins who play in the water below the house at dawn and sunset. If you wish to be a bit more involved, you may try out the beach just across the way, or wander through Treasure Beach looking for new experiences. There are plenty to be had. This is a charming village with a fascinating mix of both local and international charm. |

Above:The many layers of Mutamba smile upon you from the hilltop waiting to be discovered. Left: The great room includes kitchen and deck. Plenty of space for a family to spread out or a couple to commune with the sunset view |

The mosaic tile counter tops were compliments of some weekend guests. The fridge and stove sport the local cactus and colours of the dry and sunny Treasure Beach area. |

The views from all the decks are equally sublime. |

The entry way beckons you with it's eclectic style of accents. Here the African drums and stringed instrument immediately beg for a closer inspection. |
