Villa Mutamba

Master Bedroom

The sleeping area of the house is on the middle level and is comprized of a master bedroom looking out through a row of dormer windows to the sea and a loft at the back of the room. It has a double matress on the loft floor and a railing all around. A screen made of bamboo matting which Jackie from Zimbabwe, bordered with exotic material for binding and hung on a bamboo frame provides privacy for the master bedroom.

A wildly painted wardrobe (another example of Ziad's wizardry with a paintbrush) below the loft gives a perfect accent and is useful as storage space

Stairway to Loft

Above: Open windows and fans belay the need for A/C in the master bedroom. Mosquito netting is more decorative than necessary

Left: The stair to the loft is fun for the children. They can slide down on the native rock.

The loft is at the head of the stairs coming up from the entry level. Notice the pink and green wardrobe on the right.
